Ma Cecile Delotavo believes kids are braver than they think.
As a mother who has watched children navigate an increasingly complex world, she writes stories to remind young readers of an unshakeable truth: even when life feels uncertain, they carry light inside them that fear can never extinguish.
About Her Work
Ma Cecile is the author of The Codekeepers of Calvary Lane, an adventure series for ages 8–12 that weaves together courage, humor, friendship, and faith.
Her debut novel, The Courage Code: Secret of the Forgotten Compass, introduces five unlikely friends chosen to protect their world from shadows that feed on fear. Guided by a mysterious lion named Leo, the Codekeepers discover that true courage isn't about being fearless—it's about choosing love when everything feels impossible.
Drawing from her experience as a parent and her deep belief in children's innate resilience, Ma Cecile creates stories where ordinary kids face extraordinary challenges and discover they're stronger together than they ever imagined alone.
Beyond Writing
When she's not crafting the next Codekeepers adventure, Ma Cecile can be found reading, sketching character designs, or testing new cookie recipes (the Codekeepers require proper snack fuel). She's inspired by Pixar's ability to create stories that speak to both children and adults, and hopes her books spark the same sense of wonder, heart, and possibility.
Her Mission
To create stories that help kids laugh, imagine, and grow in courage—showing them that they already have everything they need to be the heroes of their own lives.
